Staying Healthy

I've seen a lot of publicity lately about heart health for women.  Always makes me think about what I can do to keep myself healthy.  What do you do?  Take vitamins?  Exercise?  Share your tips and tricks.

  1. I have a portable eliptical machine that I love. I live in a small house, so I needed something that would be convenient enough to use in whatever room was available (usually either my bedroom or the livingroom). It's portable because it doesn't have arms, but I pump my arm in order to work my arms and my core. I really enjoy using it. Now if I could just work on my eating habits...

  2. This is an area where I am negiligent. My eating habits are so-so. I visit my doctor only when something seems to be wrong. I do see my dentist twice a year but I am an erratic flosser! No exercise to speak of. I am pretty healthy, overall, in spite of my lack of maintenance. Maybe because of the icky cod liver oil I take every day. My biggest problem is arthritic knees -- that's a real drag.

  3. The only exercise I get is running all over the school, troubleshooting computer issues. I drink mostly water. But my eating habits aren't great. I do try to do things in moderation, so I don't feel like a complete slacker. And I take a couple meds and supplements to ward off macular degeneration (which runs in my family) and keep my arteries clear (since my sister had a stroke). During the summer, I try to be more active. Last summer, I took a hip hop dance class at my daughter's dance studio.
