Kids!

Our kids are in a stage right now...the "I only want corn dogs or pizza for dinner" stage.  It makes my head spin!  I'm not one of those moms who make the kids sit at the table until they eat their broccoli.  Maybe I should be.  How do you get your kids to eat what you cook?  What are your kids' favorite meals?

  1. My son is a pretty good eater, although that wasn't always the case. He was very difficult to feed as an infant. He also has multiple food allergies, so there was a time when his repertoire was very limited, between allergies and food preferences. At around 2.5 he started loving all fruits and most vegetables, and that was really helpful. My policy is that I ask him to try one bite of something new, and I am pretty strict about him eating a good amount when I'm serving foods that he likes/tolerates.

  2. Mostly, our girls eat what I prepare. There are some dishes they just cannot bring themselves to eat and I accommodate that. If I am feeling kind and generous, I will prepare something else for them. If I'm not so much, I give them apples and cheese and bread. Take the long view, and don't stress over individual meals. And slip them a multivitamin everyday! :)
