Friday Fun Day

Hi, ladies!  Please forgive my lack of posts this week.  I haven't had one free moment between wrapping up the school year, 8th grade graduation Mass, finishing the yearbook, etc.  We dismissed the kids at 11 a.m. today and our summer has officially started!  We'll say goodbye to Fr. Andy this weekend as he leaves to attend to his health.  We'll also do some more cleaning around the house.  My parents will be here next week!  We are so excited!

So what's been going on with you?  Any big plans for the holiday weekend?

  1. Yay for summer, CatholicMom! Now you can breathe again!

We'll be cleaning this weekend, in preparation for guests arriving later in the week for my daughter's graduation.

  2. CatholicMom, a question for you --

What kinds of shoes did the 8th grade girls wear for graduation at your school? My daughter wants to wear sandals, but that seems too casual to me. I think I am out of touch though. She has a pretty, summery, sleeveless dress to wear, and I guess sandals would look nice with it. Any thoughts?

  3. Some girls wore sandals. Some wore heels. Some wore cowboy boots. The upside of teaching in the country. ;)

  4. Sorry to be chiming in late. We went away for the weekend, and I don't like to announce on the internet when I'm going out of town (until after I've returned). Anyway, we went to southern Maine, and went to a lobster bake on the beach on Sunday. It was a little chilly, but warm in the sun, and the view was gorgeous. We were visiting my cousin and her family. My mother rode with us, and my aunt came down from northern Maine. My son had a blast playing with his second cousin. Being an only child, I love it when he has those experiences. And it was great to see my aunt and my cousin. Unfortunately, when I got home my welcoming committee was a bat. We have been fighting bats for the past 9 years. We finally got rid of them, but then we had our roof replaced a couple of weeks ago. The batman who got rid of the bats warned us about what can happen after roof work, and we tried to stress that to the roofers, but clearly they left some breaches. So now I'm scared to go to bed!
