Escape for Two Hours

Seen any good movies lately?  We haven't.  I think the last movie we saw in the theater was Lone Survivor.  It was awesome!  With summer coming up, I'm starting to make my Netflix list of things to watch while we're out of school.  What would you put on the list?

  1. One of the best movies I've seen recently is the French film (with English subtitles) "Of Gods & Men." It is the true story of a group of Trappist monks stationed in an impoverished Algerian community during the 1996 Algerian Civil War who are under threat by fundamentalist terrorists & who must decide whether to leave or stay. It is a very powerful film!

  2. We have enjoyed Frozen and the Despicable Me movies. Mostly we watch a lot of old TV shows -- The Honeymooners, The Odd Couple, The Munsters, F-Troop, The Monkees, Family Affair.

  3. In the 10 years that we've been married, I can count on one hand how many times we've gone out to the movies. Most recently we took my son to see the Lego movie (his first movie). I did not exactly enjoy being in a crowded mall watching a loud movie on a Sunday afternoon. I would much rather watch movies on TV.

    1. I agree. The last movie I saw in the theater was "The Passion of the Christ." Movies tend to be too loud for me & the huge, visual input is almost overstimulation for me (same for our kids). Plus, some of the previews shown before movies geared towards children still tend to be inappropriate...which is annoying. The rare times my husband has taken the children to a movie (Hobbit, Tin Tin), they wait in the lobby until the previews are over.

  4. Ladies, a friend just emailed me and told me that I absolutely have to go see Mom's Night Out. So I might actually see a grown up movie this year!

    1. The review & interview on EWTN made Mom's Night Out look pretty funny!
