Friday Fun Day

What does your weekend look like?  Our second graders are making their First Communion on Sunday afternoon and I'm speaking at a neighboring parish on Saturday evening.  Other than that, I'm hoping that our family will have some time to relax.  What about you?

  1. Tonight I'm going with a friend to a huge children's consignment sale (I won a presale pass, which I'm thrilled about, because last year it was so incredibly crowded there that I walked out without buying anything). Then we're going to go out to dinner after the sale. My husband is working tomorrow, and Sunday is supposed to be rainy, so hopefully we'll get some projects done around the house and then have our traditional Sunday night fire in the fireplace. Happy Friday everyone!

  2. My husband and I will have the extraordinary experience of an entire day to ourselves. Our daughters will be on a school band/choir field trip from 6:30 a.m. until about midnight tomorrow. It's First Communion weekend in our parish too, and so we will attend a reception after Mass on Sunday morning. What is your talk about, CatholicMom? And Claire, can I just say that I really love your Sunday fire/roasting marshmallows tradition. I'd really like to copy that one.

    1. Wow Anne, that is awesome! You'll have to let us know how the day goes. (This must be The weekend for first communions; they're happening at my parish this weekend to, as is confirmation.)

    2. We're having an open house at my school tomorrow, so some of us staff are speaking at nearby parishes that don't have a school and inviting them to come and see what we have to offer.

On another note, I took our son to his follow-up appointment with our doctor yesterday and he DOES have a concussion. So we'll goback once a week until his balance is back to normal. Again...boys! lol

We're enjoying our day off from school. About to head out and buy puppy supplies since we're picking him up tonight. Hope everyone has a glorious day!

  3. CatholicMomInOz: Sorry about your son's concussion! We will pray his recovery is swift! Those head injuries can be nerve-wracking for us moms.

We are attending the 1st Holy Communion of our friends' son tomorrow morning. If the weather holds up (it is overcast & cool today & calls for the same tomorrow), there is much mowing to be done by my husband & sons who have a little neighborhood lawn care business for some extra cash (bring on the long grass...our 3rd child to get braces starts her treatment next week).

Hope you ladies have a great weekend!
