  1. Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen! Hoping you all had a blessed & joyous celebration of our Lord's life-giving & radiant Resurrection! We had beautiful weather for the procession our parish holds before Resurrectional Matins & the Divine Liturgy, then wen enjoyed a wonderful day & delicious Easter feast at my sister's house. The children enjoyed spending the day with their cousins & we even brought a cousin back home with us for the week. :)

“Come you all: enter into the joy of your Lord. You the first and you the last, receive alike your reward; you rich and you poor, dance together; you sober and you weaklings, celebrate the day; you who have kept the fast and you who have not, rejoice today. The table is richly loaded: enjoy its royal banquet. The calf is a fatted one: let no one go away hungry. All of you enjoy the banquet of faith; all of you receive the riches of his goodness. Let no one grieve over his poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed; let no one weep over his sins, for pardon has shone from the grave; let no one fear death, for the death of our Saviour has set us free: He has destroyed it by enduring it, He has despoiled Hades by going down into its kingdom, He has angered it by allowing it to taste of his flesh.” ~ St. John Chrysostom

  2. We had a very nice Easter. The weather was warm and sunny (which is a rare treat on Easter), and even the wind was quiet so I was able to get dressed up for Mass without worrying about my hair being a wreck. We got there early so we could find a good seat to combat the claustrophobia that I get when it's standing room only. My son was able to have his Easter egg hunt outdoors this year, which made it much more fun. We had a few relatives over for dinner; sadly, no children for my son to play with, but he enjoyed lots of attention from the adults.

  3. Happy Easter! We had a great weekend. We welcomed eight adults and four children into the faith on Saturday night. Yesterday, we were all lazy. I cooked lunch and the kids played with each other all day. I was able to nap, which was a treat. We're off of school today, so we're heading to the movies with some friends in a little bit.

My great niece is in surgery right now. There were some complications and postponements last week, so we're praying hard that surgery goes well and her recovery is smooth. Thanks for your prayers!

  4. A quiet Easter at our house, and that was fine. My husband came down with the flu, or something like it, and spent most of the day in bed. The girls and I made it to 8 a.m. Mass and that was lovely. The day turned sunny and warm but windy. I cooked a nice turkey dinner with a fabulous first-time dessert: strawberries, custard, and whipped cream layered in a meringue crust, yum!

    2. Thanks Claire -- and I guess we saw it coming -- now our younger daughter has a fever and body aches. Sigh.

    3. Oh no! You would think cold and flu season would be over by now. I hope the rest of your family will be spared!

  5. So sorry there's illness at your house, Anne! Braylee made it through surgery with flying colors. They patched the big hole in her heart and stitched a couple small holes. They can already see an improvement in her breathing and coloring. God is good! Thanks for all the prayers!
