Welcome back!

Okay, so I took a few days off for spring break and then had a sick husband and then had to get things together for said husband to head out of town for new job training.  Soooo, I'm finally back.  I hope you all had a wonderful week last week!  We did a lot of relaxing (until the stomach bug hit).  It was really great to just spend some time together before hubby goes back to work.  We have a busy week this week, with taekwondo, dance, hubby's trip, Lenten meal at church Friday night, and a Confirmation Rite and session on Sunday.  So we'll be going through the motions.  Not ideal, but sometimes it's all we can do.

How are things in your neck of the woods?  Anything exciting happen last week that you want to share?  Any prayer requests?

  1. And welcome back to you, too! :) Glad to hear you are all on the mend & doing better. I was wondering if everything was ok on your end.

We just returned from a pro-life prayer gathering of about 25 people outside the local IVF clinic which we've been doing for the past several years on the Feast of the Annunciation. Our prayers (Rosary & Divine Mercy Chaplet) were led by a wonderful & faithful priest who travels 2 hours to join us in prayer every year. We prayed for an increase in respect for human life, for the many lives lost at this IVF clinic & others like it, & that the hearts of couples experiencing infertility would be turned to moral & healthy alternatives to IVF (adoption, NaPro Technology, Creighton Model of Fertility Awareness). Snowflakes were falling as we gathered for prayer, but God blessed us with some beautiful sunshine. Tonight, we'll attend Vespers & Divine Liturgy for this beautiful & important Feast Day.

Asking prayers for the professor at Wyoming Catholic College who, with his wife & other young daughter, are grieving the loss of 2 other precious young daughters who were killed in a car crash earlier this week. Blessed repose & eternal memory for these little handmaidens of God. +

    1. God bless you, Pilgrims, for praying outside the IVF clinic. As someone who has struggled with infertility and miscarriage, this issue is near and dear to my heart. My brother and sister-in-law did IVF and had 15 "surplus" embryos whose fate I have grave concern for.

  2. Thanks, claire. Infertility & miscarriage (we have experienced the latter) are such emotionally charged issues, as the desire for a child is a wonderful & normal desire. The fate of such "surplus" embryos is indeed one of very serious concern. I hope that more people become aware of the alternatives of NaPro, etc. American Life League has a wealth of information on the problems associated with IVF & other forms of assisted reproductive technology. May God bless you & your husband as you bear this cross.
