Lenten Meals

So what are you eating on Fridays this Lent?  We've done cheese pizza, crab casserole, and fish sticks.  What about you and your family?

  1. We're pretty boring here. Every single Friday we've had brown rice pasta spirals with red sauce and a vegetable.

  2. claire: Sometimes that mealtime routine makes life so much easier! We're meatless on both Wednesdays & Fridays & have been going mostly vegan those days...potato soup (minus our favorite bacon add-in), vegetable & legume-based Indian dishes over quinoa (we're trying grain-free, too, so we're not relying on our usual & much-liked pasta & rice), veggie & lentil soups, hummus, etc.

    1. I love hummus and lentils! Unfortunately, my husband and son don't feel the same way. But, today in the mail I got a coupon for Salmon, so maybe we'll have that for dinner next Friday. Even with the coupon it's going to cost more than what I have previously been comfortable paying for it, but I have a feeling this price range is going to be the "new normal" for salmon.

  3. I love hummus, too. Great idea! Our parish has meatless meals every Friday during Lent. Tomorrow night is a baked potato bar with meatless chili and all the fixings.

  4. I like the loaded baked potato idea with non-meat fixins!
