Happy Summer!

Well, our summer has finally started.  We've made it through recital and my parents' visit.  We've slept late two days in a row and spent yesterday afternoon at the pool.  Just something about water and sunshine that makes my heart happy.  I apologize for the few days off.

So what's been going on with you?  Is everyone done with school yet?

  1. We still have three weeks left of school. Originally we were going to end on the 26th, but since we didn't use up all our snowdays, now the last day will be the 25th. So, right now we're in the middle of the end of the year frenzy (discovery fairs, awards, field day, etc). I'm looking forward to having my little guy home this summer!

  2. Yes, school is over, the girls are home, and my husband and I will take turns staying with them until camp begins in a few weeks. Graduation was nice and it was lovely having some of my dearest friends and one of my brothers visit for several days.

P.S. I let my daughter wear sandals for graduation. It was about 50-50, shoes and sandals. No cowboy boots! :D

  3. Three more weeks? Yikes! Glad to hear that graduation went well, Anne. We just got home from my least favorite place...the mall. Our daughter is a flower girl next week in my cousin's wedding and we had to find some shoes. Started in Sears and found a super cute pair that matched the ivory dress perfectly, they fit, she liked them, AND they were $7.99. Yep, I was touched by God today! ;)

    1. I don't really mind having another three weeks. Homework is done for the year, and the kids are doing a lot of fun things. And then school won't start again till the Thursday after Labor Day, so we have a nice long break. I know that some parts of the country go back to school in early August, and I can't even fathom that. Although I guess in a really hot climate it might make sense.

  4. We are mostly done with schooling (we homeschool, so a few children are still doing some school work). I attended freshman orientation with our eldest child today at the university he will attend this fall (we live in the same university town). It was a deja vu & does not seem possible that my own father took me to orientation at this same university 26 years ago...
