Still dark....

It's 4:37 a.m. and we're waiting to board a plane.  It's finally my cousin's wedding weekend in Baltimore!  Our flight leaves at 5:30, so I thought I'd touch base before we leave.  I'll be busy for the next week, but please use this post to keep in touch.  I'll try to check in when I have a chance.  Please pray for our safe travels and good health.  You'll be in my prayers, as well.  God bless!

  1. Praying you have a wonderful trip! Please also pray for my husband & 2 sons who are in Gettysburg this week with their Scout Troop, as well as our eldest son who will attend the Faith & Reason program at St. Vincent's College/Seminary next week. Thanks!

  3. The wedding was beautiful last night! We're hoping to head into D.C. today and do some sightseeing. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I get to see my dad on this Father's Day, which never happens. I'm a lucky girl!

    1. I'm so glad you're having a good weekend! Ours has been downright chilly, after a week of rain. It certainly doesn't feel like June! But it's supposed to get nice later, and anything is better than the extreme heat that we often get at this time of year. We're going out to dinner at a boat restaurant on the Hudson River tonight, and we're going to go early in the hopes of beating the Father's Day crowds. There is a playground there that my son can play at with my husband while we're waiting for our food. Unlike a lot of men, my husband doesn't enjoy grilling, so I'm giving him the night off!

  4. Sounds like everyone is doing fun things! I'm glad.

Claire, how was dinner on the river last night? That sounds lovely and romantic and fun.

Nothing much going on here. Lots of heat and humidity! Today is the first day of summer camp for my girls.

Appropos (sp?) of nothing, one of the blogs I read semi-regularly is Doll Diaries. They recently asked readers to submit photos of vintage dolls -- i.e., dolls made before 1980. You can see 3 of my childhood friends here: http://dolldiaries.com/throwback-thursday-vintage-doll-extravaganza-part-1/

Sadly, my girls are losing interest in dolls. I seem to play with them more than anyone else these days! Kind of weird.

    1. That Holly Hobbie doll brings back so many memories!

Dinner last night went great. It was freezing all weekend, but it finally warmed up yesterday afternoon, so it was perfect weather for the boat restaurant.

  5. Hi ladies,

I have a question for you. I think I told you last week that I broke a tooth -- one of my bottom molars, all the way in the back. My dentist is recommending that I get it yanked out and replaced with an implant. I don't personally know anyone with dental implants. Do you? It sounds straightforward but I'm afraid it will be ghastly.

    1. Anne,
I know very little about dental implants, but...I also had the back of one of my (top) molars cracked. I had mine filled with a non-mercury sealant & it has been fine. I think it is always best to keep your teeth if possible. Wellness Mama has some very interesting posts on oral/dental health. Good luck!
