I scream, you scream....

So now that it's summer, let's talk ice cream.  What is your favorite flavor?  Brand?  Do you make it at home?  My mother-in-law bought us a really nice ice cream maker a couple years ago.  So we'll be pulling it out and trying some different recipes this summer.  As for buying it at the store, we buy Blue Bell.  We're originally from Texas, so there's no other brand for us.  ;)

  1. Coffee icecream is my alltime favorite. I'm fine with pretty much any brand, but a few that come to mind are Breyer's, Friendly's and Sealtest.

  2. Ice cream! Yes, one of my favorite topics. It is easier for me to tell you what I don't like, rather than my favorite: I don't like Breyers. I don't like any kind of nuts. I don't like coffee or mocha or pistachio or spumoni. Other than that, I'm not too picky! Last year at a yard sale I bought one of those ice cream balls that you roll back and forth, but we have yet to actually try it out.

    1. Anne, I'm with you on the nuts! I can't stand nuts in icecream, or in any other dessert (cakes, cookies, etc). I do love almond flavor, but not the nuts themselves.

    2. How funny...those are the flavors I like, especially coffee & pistachio! :) Mint chocolate chip is another favorite. I think the best ice cream we ever had was homemade peach & elderberry ice cream while visiting our friend's farm in NC many years ago.

    3. Peach and elderberry sounds delicious! I love mint chocolate chip too. I probably would love pistachio if there was some way of removing the actual nuts!

  3. Talk about coincidences: I never heard about Blue Bell till you mentioned it yesterday, and then today on my Facebook newsfeed, a friend of (who is originally from Texas and recently moved back there) posted something about it!

  4. How funny, Claire! My all-time favorite flavor is Blue Bell Tin Roof. Vanilla ice cream with chocolate swirls and peanuts. Yummy! Blue Bell rotates their flavors, so it's not always on the shelf. But when it is, it's such a treat!

    1. That sounds yummy (other than the nuts!). I don't think we can get Blue Bell in my area, but hopefully I'll have a chance to try it someday.
