Oh, my head!

I had another migraine yesterday.  I used to have one a month, could watch my chart and tell you when it was coming.  But they seem to be increasing.  When they strike, I immediately take meds and head to bed.  It seems the only surefire way to get rid of them is to sleep them off.  Ugh!

Anyone out there have any other ideas?  The more natural, the better.  Thanks!

  1. I'm so sorry to here that you are struggling with headaches! This is an issue for me as well. I'm not sure if mine are migraines, but they have definitely gotten worse and more frequent in recent years (although interestingly, I don't have them as often in the summer). Mine are triggered by hormones, stress, and drastic drops in temperature (especially when it's accompanied by a cold wind). Steam or any type of heat on my face tends to help, as does caffeine. And I always pop a few Tylenol, although I try to be careful about it because too much headache medication can cause rebound headaches. I have been avoiding Motrin, because I read that it can trigger Celiac disease, and I have four immediate family members with Celiac.

(By the way, I apologize for being MIA this week. It has been a crazy week, which I will tell you about when things slow down in a few days.)

  2. Thanks, Claire! I might have to try a hot shower next time. Noise and light sometimes bother me, so that's usually why I bury my head under a pillow and sleep. If I can catch it right at the beginning, two Aleve sometimes keeps the worst away.

Hope things are okay at your house. Can't wait to catch up!

  3. I am finally back in commission! We were way on vacation last week (Cape Cod), which is why I was unable to comment very much. Each day flew by! I don't like to announce online when I'm going to be going out of town (especially because of a certain troll/internet stalker), which is why I was kind of cryptic about my limited commenting. I see that it's been pretty quiet around here in general. I hope that everyone is having a good summer!
